Sol Haus Design

Sol Haus Design was founded in 2010 by architect Vina Lustado, who has over 30 years of experience in corporate architecture and earned her degree from USC. The firm is based in Ojai, California, and is B Corp certified and a member of 1% for the Planet.

Their flagship product is a 260 sq ft (1BR/1BA) prefab tiny home ADU with fire-resistant exterior and non-toxic, healthy interior materials (no formaldehyde or off-gassing). The prefab starts at $120,000 including finishes, cabinetry, appliances, plumbing, and lighting. Construction and state permitting can be completed in approximately 3 months.

Units are built as prefab modular and shipped to the building site, then placed on a permanent foundation and connected to utilities. They are certified with the state of California for permit processing. Sol Haus Design partners with Bevyhouse for factory building, shipping, foundation work, utility connection, and installation.

Future plans include larger models at 500, 750, and 1,200 sq ft in one- to two-bedroom configurations. All units can be powered with solar panels, which is required in California for new ADUs.
